"Everything is perfect...and there is nothing I can do about it."

My therapist told me this saying and at first, admittedly, I couldn't wrap my head around it. Now I realize that it means things are going to be the way they are going to be. They will be that way and you cannot control it. Then again, why bother to try? If everything is preordained, then whatever your choices are are already etched in stone. Even the wrong thing to do was the right choice at the time.

At least, that's how I see it.

I realize I was in love with a memory. That's all it was. That's all it will ever be.
